From the library of Prof. Wolfgang Haase, long-time editor of ANRW and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT). - Corner slightly creased in upper right corner, otherwise clean. - From the text: The Itinerarium Alexandri, promising accounts of the campaigns of Alexander the Great and Trajan, presumably the latter’s Persian campaign, lacks the sections on Trajan because the manuscript breaks off. The first chapter includes a dedication to Constantius II, who, like his forebears, is about to depart for a Persian war. The author states that he, like Varro writing for Cn. Pompeius before the general’s Spanish expedition (ch. 6), is writing an exemplary work of exhortation rather than a laudation of deeds already performed, although in chapter four the author mentions the example of the deeds of the emperor’s father and brother, i.e., Constantine I and Constantine II.
