Carl Haefner (1814 Luebeck - 1873 Muenchen)
1938 uebersiedelte Haefner nach Muenchen. Das Dachauer Land, der Walchen- und Kochelsee, Brannenburg im Inntal, das er ab 1858 wiederholt aufsuchte, der Hechtsee bei Kiefersfelden, schliesslich Lenggries, boten dem Landschaftsmaler vielfach Anregungen. Seine Malweise zeichnet sich durch besonders Feinheit und Tonigkeit aus. Haefner gilt als typischer Vertreteer der Muenchner Landschaftsmalerei. Seit 1850 beschickte er die Ausstellungen in Luebeck und Dresden, 1867 die Weltausstellung in Paris, 1869 und 1871 auch die internationalen Ausstellungen im Glaspalast und nahm regelmaessig an den Ausstellungen im Muenchner Kunstverein teil. Im Depot der Muenchner Maillinger-Sammlung im Stadtmuseum befinden sich eine Reihe von Zeichnungen Haefners. Die Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen in Kassel verzeichnen im Bestandkatalog eine "Dachauer Landschaft". (artroots)

In 1938 Haefner moved to Munich. The Dachau region, the Walchen and Kochel lakes, Brannenburg in the Inn valley, which he visited repeatedly from 1858, the Hechtsee near Kiefersfelden, and finally Lenggries, offered the landscape painter many inspirations. His painting style is characterized by particular delicacy and tonality. Haefner is considered a typical representative of Munich landscape painting. Since 1850 he participated in the exhibitions in Luebeck and Dresden, in 1867 in the world exhibition in Paris, in 1869 and 1871 also in the international exhibitions in the Glaspalast and regularly took part in the exhibitions in the Munich Kunstverein. A number of Haefner's drawings are in the depot of the Munich Maillinger Collection in the City Museum. The State Art Collections in Kassel list a "Dachau Landscape" in their inventory catalog. Generally good condition. Doubled. Lightly soiled - cleaning recommended. Minimal paint loss, craquelure and signs of use. Frame with light traces of use.
