The Qi80C is the most powerful of the Professional in-ceiling range from Q Acoustics including the beautiful Q Install magnetic grille design where the super slim bezel and narrow-mesh grille clips firmly into place. The major benefit of this grille design is that it makes a larger diameter in-ceiling speaker look much less obtrusive.

As with all our Install products they feature protective driver dust covers and cloth backed grilles to facilitate painting.

Gelcore™

First introduced in the Concept 20 and Concept 40 models and featured throughout our Concept Series of speakers, Gelcore™ is a non-setting gel between cabinet layers, which minimises cabinet resonance for a purer, more uncoloured sound.

A Gelcore™ cabinet is constructed using two layers of MDF, separated by this specially developed, resonance absorbing, non-setting adhesive. This special bespoke gel converts and dissipates high-frequency vibrations, generated by the moving drivers, into heat.

The result is substantially reduced distortion, allowing the individual drive units to deliver their optimal performance.


Dual Gelcore™

Exclusive to our flagship Concept 300 and Concept 500 models, Dual Gelcore™ is comprised of three individual MDF layers divided by the bespoke gel. This additional layer significantly reduces unwanted sound energy produced by the wall of a loudspeaker cabinet and enables a more accurate reproduction of the source material.


P2P™

Handed down from our flagship models, the Concept 300 and Concept 500, to feature across the award-winning 3000i range, P2P™ (Point-to-Point) bracing is fitted to interior areas of the cabinet susceptible to low-end frequency vibrations. This internal support design makes the enclosure exceptionally rigid, improving the focus of the stereo image and giving the soundstage more accuracy than ever before.


HPE™

Tall loudspeaker enclosures are vulnerable to increased internal pressure caused by standing waves. These generate unwanted resonances that colour the sound.

Developed for the top-of-the-range Concept 500 floorstanding speaker and trickled down to the 3050i, HPE™ (Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer) tube technology is designed to convert this pressure into velocity and reduce the overall pressure gradient within the speaker enclosure.

Tubes inside the tall cabinet eliminate these performance-effecting vibrations to maintain a transparent soundstage.


180 Degree Speaker Technology

With traditional speaker design, listeners are on a mission to find the ‘sweet spot’; the exact listening position where the sound is at its very best in the room. With Q Acoustics’ 180 degree sound technology, the whole room is a ‘sweet spot’.

Using BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) driver units, not only do they deliver a superior sonic performance but disperse the sound 180 degrees across the room.

AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT FOR SPEAKER INSTALLATIONS

Designed to cover the rear of in-ceiling and in-wall speakers, a fire and acoustic hood is a legal requirement for many new buildings. But whether legally required or not, we'd recommend them as a safety precaution.

Using a fire and acoustic hood helps resist the spread of fire through the floors of a building and to reduce the transmission of noise to adjacent rooms and properties. It's a requirement for all speakers that are installed below any habitable rooms and escape routes.



MAINTAINING FIRE RATINGS

The hoods maintain fire rating integrity of the ceiling to which they are fitted, thus enabling 30 minutes or 60 minutes of fire rating to be maintained.

Tested at the UK Building Test Centre and complies with Part B and Part E of UK building regulations - reports are available on request.



REDUCING SOUND LEAKAGE

When a speaker is installed into a ceiling or wall it can help transmit unwanted sound, potentially into another property, even when the speaker is not in use. Adding these hoods effectively restores the acoustic integrity of the ceiling or wall.


When the speaker is in use it can also reduce the rear transmission of sound by around 10dB over the mid to high frequency range. Preventing the transmission of low (bass) frequencies is a specialist field and may require substantial additional treatment.

We provide delivery for Free, using Royal Mail Tracked 24, on all of our UK orders, as long as you complete your order before 3pm (Monday - Friday, Excluding Bank holidays). 


Any orders placed before 10am on a Saturday will also be delivered for Free Using Royal Mail Tracked 24. Orders placed after 10am on a Saturday will be dispatched on the following Monday, (unless this falls an a Bank Holiday)

We have started to use eBays Global Shipping Programme (GSP). This has been recommended for its costs and efficiency for both ourselves and you the Customer.

These items will be sent to a Global Shipping Programme (GSP) depot in the UK by ourselves, then the GSP will then take over the shipping process. 

Once we receive your order, you will be updated (by email) on the progress throughout the delivery process.
