Palm Beach Estate Find!!!  FRENCH FASHION POCHOIR Lithograph in the Art Deco Modernist Style plate-signed R. SAINTMAURICE, circa 1920s 1930s era. Colors are vibrant and the addition of silver ink makes it so eye-catching!! Haute Couture fashion pochoir prints are a stenciling process characterized by crisp lines and brilliant colors. Many are housed in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution.

"Artists from Paul Iribe, Georges Lepape, and George Barbier to Umberto Brunelleschi, Eduardo Garcia Benito, and André E. Marty, these artists inaugurated the alliance between fashion and art with highly stylized depictions of the work of cutting edge designers such as Paul Poiret, Jeanne Lanvin, and Madeleine Vionnet among others."

The elegant "WINTER" lady stands on a checkerboard floor wearing a bright blue bustled dress and carries her crook and flower basket with stylized birds in flight behind her. Stunning!!
Overall framed measurement is 16.5" x 21" and the image within the matte measures 8.5" x 11.5".  The frame is very complimentary to the lithograph and displays beautifully. Some light scuffing to the frame, but nothing major at all.  Please ask any & all questions prior to offer or purchase.

PLEASE NOTE: We are offering a second work by SaintMaurice "SPRING" in a separate listing and would be happy to negotiate a better price for the pair.
