Maurice Henri Mazeilie (1924-2021)

Maurice Henri Mazeilie 1924-2021 Listed French artist w/c painting 12x9" art, signed.

Born in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine, Paris in early 1924, Mazeilie painted prolifically covering landscapes, coastal scenes in Brittany where he had a studio, Parisian landscapes and architecture, and portraiture.

He departed for the USA in 1957, returning to France briefly for a few months in 1958, then arriving back in early 1959 to settle in San Diego California where he applied for naturalisation and became a longstanding figure in the artist’s centre at Spanish Village in San Diego between approximately 1967-1974.

In the late 1970’s he returned to France and continued to paint and sketch right up to 2019.

His gentle, impressionist style makes his work very easy to live with.
