QUILL BY VICTOR ERWIN ORIGINAL NEWSPAPER ART
I'll be listing several "Original Illustrated Art". All are original and 100 % "Guaranteed Authentic!" This is a Legitimate Collection and Not Reproductions! They were done by an artist named "VICTOR ERWIN", who worked for one of the Newspapers in Davenport Iowa. Circa, 1930's or earlier. Some are pen & Ink, some watercolors. Victor Erwin was head artist in designing John Deere ads. He also created old tyme comic strips titled: Secretary Hawkins and Chief Blackhawk. His etchings of Charles Lindbergh and Will Rogers were well known. Victor was also a violinist and had his own band, giving his friend, Meredith Wilson ( wrote Music Man ) his musical start. This information was obtain from a family member. One of the section in the paper, was Titled " WORDS WITH YOU". It featured a word, with several meanings, illustrated with art. This is the original artwork for the word, QUILL. Done with pen and ink and signed by Erwin. It Measure 10" X 11" high,. Circa, 1930's or earlier. CONDITION: some light age toning, mostly to the edges, minor edge and corner wear. some light notation written in pencil on the margin. Has been housed a a portfolio and is nice and clean. SHIPPING: to lower 48 states includes confirmation or signature confirmation.... All items will be insured. All international items will be insured. My first priority is getting the item to you in good condition. All items are well packaged- I make the assumption that gorillas may handle them at some point along the way.
