A fine antique English, Victorian walnut jewellery box.

Square shaped box with a lightly domed lid, the lid has a lovely brass shield shaped cartouche which is not monogrammed so could be personalised.

The wood has a beautiful deep grain, the lid opens to a reveal a plush green velvet fitted interior top with a place for rings and bracelets / bangles, the interior of the lid is covered with tufted green silk with small golden beads.

Once the upper lid has been lifted it also opens into a fall front with a larger compartment to be found underneath.

There is a lock but no key.

The base of the box is lined with a black fabric.

A beautiful jewellery box, very well made, Victorian era, c1880's.

Condition:
Very good used condition overall, some light surface wear and scratches, commensurate with age, a small tear in the tufted silk, no key.
