Paul says;
An unusual page from the June 1904 edition of "The Boys' Own Paper" showing a reclining Wire Fox Terrier on a coastal landscape guarding his masters set of golf clubs.
Considered to be one of the premier London painters of animals, sporting subjects and genre, Philip Stretton’s work remains popular today, both because of his success in capturing light and colour and because of his selection of sentimental animal scenes as the focal point of much of his work.
