True Vintage wedding blanket Handira are getting more and more scarce, they come directly from Berber families in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains who painfully sell them to survive!
The exact age is unknown but it is believed to be anywhere between 30 and 50 plus years.
The market is saturated with newly manufactured Handira but this pouf is made off a true Authentic and Vintage piece!
Moroccan wedding blankets (Handira) are a marriage celebration tradition that originated with the Berber tribes, they are meticulously handwoven out of sheep's wool, cotton and linen in anticipation of a wedding by the bride's female relatives.
It can take hours, even weeks of work to attach metal mirrored sequins (which are authentic elements of Handira throws) once the weaving is complete.
These ornate pieces hold significant cultural meaning for the tribes.
Throws, poufs and pillows of this style have recently become an international trend.
Our unique decorative Floor pillow cushions take original, historic Handira and up-cycle them into easy to fill cases which we have embellished with off White, Black, Grey, Burgundy threads, more metal mirror sequins!

We are selling the floor pillow unstuffed because of shipping costs but here are some filling options to consider.
