The piece was a gift to an attendee of one of his exhibits - personal, hand written note accompanies the photograph. The dust sheet from the back of the frame is shown.
Paul Macapia was the official Seattle Art Museum photographer for 32 years.
His work included documenting the SAM collection of over 23,000 objects.
Mr. Macapia died in 2009.
