Vivitar^® Deluxe Power Grip for Canon EOS 70D/80D. The Vivitar engineers have done an amazing job of integrating this product to the Canon cameras to give the user a more comfortable portrait shooting mode, plus it holds two LP-E6 style batteries to provide additional shooting time before batteries must be changed. Power Grip even provides the ability to use standard “AA” batteries while your regular batteries are charging.

And, if you fancy using a Canon or a third-party AC Adaptor for the camera, plug the AC Adaptor’s battery adaptor into the Power Grip and route the battery adaptor’s wire through the wire exit identified in the Power Grip instruction manual.

The Power Grip provides a vertical shutter release button, and easy power on/off switch. Using Power Grip makes shooting with the camera in a vertical position (portrait mode) just as comfortable as shooting horizontally (standard landscape mode).

The Power Grip attaches through the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera and provides its own receptable for tripod mounting.

I received the Power Grip as part of a Canon EOS 80D camera bundle several years ago. I kept the Power Grip, not knowing if it would be useful for me. Subsequent use of my camera did not go in a direction where Power Grip was important. In fact, until starting this listing I had never installed it on my camera. I installed it and made sure that it worked (no way list something I don’t know if it works!). Although it could be considered an “open box” new item, I chose to list it as “used” because over the years the original outside box has gathered some scuff marks and the box sides have acquired a beer-belly curvature 😊.
