1938 Baseball Tabs: The issuer and manner of distribution for these baseball tabs is unknown. About 3/4" diameter, with bendable wings at each side, the points of which could be stuck through fabric and thus attached to a cap or jacket, the tabs have black-and-white player portraits on a baseball-style background in one of several colors. Most of the player first names have parentheses around them. The team tabs have a large nickname at center and the city and league at bottom. The inclusion of American Association teams argues for distribution in the upper Midwest. These pins are similar to the Topps, Old London, Caporal, Armour, Jello, Chips Salada, MLBPA and Shirriff coins.
