This is a very unique Cream and Sugar set. Believed to be Satsuma. Made of porcelain in Japan prior to 1921 as determined by mark. (1921 law required items to be marked with alphabetic lettering.) The scene appears to be that of a family rather than the typical Geisha pattern. These are in the melon shape and of a higher quality in detail and hand painting. Gold has been used extensively in both of these pieces. The scenes are separate vignettes and very distinct. The creamer is 2.5" high and 3.5" in diameter and measures 5.25" from spout tip to outside handle edge. The sugar bowl is 4" high with lid on and is 4" in diameter. It measures 6" between outside handle edges. I do not find any chips, cracks or repairs. These Items are from the estate auction of a Collector of Japanese porcelain. I am not a collector.

Please Note: I try to describe all of my items as completely and accurately as possible and provide many photos from various angles for your inspection. If you have any questions please ask before purchase as all sales are considered final.
