Als Schüler von Magaud in Marseille und von Cabanel, Bonnat und Saint-Pierre in Paris stellte Marius Barthalot von 1885 bis 1934 im Salon der französischen Künstler aus, wo er zahlreiche Auszeichnungen für seine leuchtenden Bilder erhielt.
