Antique Victorian 9ct Yellow & Rose Gold Swallow Sweetheart Brooch Pin in Box

beautiful antique, late Victorian (c1890), 9ct yellow & rose gold,
romantic sweetheart brooch presented in an original fitted box.
Measuring at 40mm, this stunning brooch features a yellow gold frame
with applied rose gold forget-me-nots and a pearched swallow.
The swallows is a symbol of fidelity; as it's a bird that mates for life and
always returns to the same nest, paired with the forget-me-nots; used as a
declaration of love, this is a very romantic piece
that would've been the perfect way to voice one's affection for another
in times gone by.
The rear of the brooch is stamped 9ct GOLD, and it has a barrel-hinged pin and open c clasp. In excellent all original condition and presented in a beautifully aged, fitted jeweller's brooch box, from Francis Lowe of Rotherham (Est.1886); showing some genuine signs of wear commensurate with age.
