Description

Object: Arita bowl from the mid-Edo period (18th century), decorated in "kraak" style in underglaze blue.


Decoration: Mostly floral; some reserves with stylised animals.


Size: Diameter 16 cm (6.5").

Marks: Illegible mark in Japanese kanji characters (underglaze blue).

State: Excellent - no cracks, chips or repairs.  Some glaze misses to the rim, but these were part of the manufacturing process.

 

NOTE: Sometimes we sell a set of items (e.g. five cups, six plates) one by one.
