Shaving Scuttle
Pearlescent with raised rafting scene

Shaving scuttles allow for the lathering of shaving soap.  Soap is placed in the upper chamber while hot water fills the lower chamber.

Scuttles were created before bathrooms and were a feature on the typical washstand.  Often matching or complimenting the wash set.  Because this is in the “women’s realm” of décor, it often involved floral patterns.

Since Shaving scuttles, mugs, and cups can be over 100 years old it is not unheard of for you to find cracks, chips, pottery imperfections, stains,etc..  Please look over the photos carefully.
