Saxony Vase (small) - Reproduction of a Meissen Vase, circa 1725-35 (Lenox).

The Saxony Vase is an authorized reproduction of a porcelain vase in the Hanz Syz Collection of European and Oriental Porcelain at the National Museum of American History. The original bowl was hand made and hand painted about 1725-1735, at the Meissen porcelain manufactory in Saxony. The reproduction bears the mark of the Smithsonian Institution and to avoid possible confusion with the original, has the Lenox “l” impressed into the vase.

This item was purchased at a estate auction and upon inspection I could not find any cracks, chips or crazing. Appears in very good condition.

Added note: This vase has beautiful colorful flowers and birds with gold highlights and trim at the base.
