Here is a 1949 cancelled check from The National City Bank Of New York. The branch was located at Fordham Road and Creston Avenue in The Bronx.

This check was written out to Maestro Cesaro Sturani. He was a famous Italian opera/voice instructor at that time. If you look carefully at the bottom left-hand corner of the check--- you will see it was written for the purpose of "voice lessons for Gloria".

The reverse of the check has been signed (endorsed) by Mr Sturani.

It is in good condition with some wear-- it also has the usual cancellation holes that are associated with vintage checks.

This is great piece that crosses over into various areas of collecting-- vintage financial/banking items, opera/singing/music memorabilia, Italian-American items, Bronx collectibles. New York City memorabilia etc.

Here is a nice piece of history from almost 80 years ago.
