This is a beautiful display case originally supplied by Watkins and Doncaster. The original label is on the bottom of the box. (it is now advertised new at £100 on the W&D site.)
This display box can be laid on a table top or hung from the wall with the attached fixings. It has been used once for display of insects.
The case has a polished wood exterior, finished in a traditional mahogany coloured stain.
The wooden case has a lift-off glazed lid which provides a seal with the base as traditionally found in butterfly store boxes. It has an integral camphor cell.
There are 4 brass catches fitted to retain the lid, and it comes complete with 2 wall hanging brass plate.
The base of the case is cork lined and papered.
