About event:
The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2009 were the 40th FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, held 2–15 February in France at Val-d'Isère, Savoie.  
There were 70 participating nations, 382 participating athletes within 11 events (such as Downhill, Slalom, Super-G, Giant slalom, Combined for men and women).
Finland won 2 bronze medals, both were won by Finnish athlete Tanja Poutiainen in Slalom and Giant Slalom for women.
Most medals were won by Switzerland (total 6 - 2 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze), Austria (Total 5 - 2 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze) and USA (total 3 - 2 gold, 1 bronze).
