Ul40 replacement cell
I’m having trouble keeping the readings in the right range there between 4000 and 4300.I tried to lower the settings from 50 to 20 but it didn’t get any lower. So I turned the unit off to see if it would go down.So maybe you could give me some suggestions on how I could keep the readings in the range.
[Response: The salt reading is not affected by the output setting. We'll send you more information about your system to help make that clear]

Salt Cell Replacement
I had a problem with my Salt Generator and contacted the help hotline. They walked me through a diagnostic check and sent out a new salt cell. I received it within days and it fixed the problem. Back in business.

Q & A

Q: I have a CircuPool Universal40 Salt Chlorine Generator system that I purchased in May of 2020. I just did my 3 month acid bath cell maintenance and removed all visible buildup but my Cell maintenance light is still blinking. There is proper water flow and control panel is reading approx 4.8 on cell and salt level is 3500. The manual says make sure the control module is set to the right cell version setting but how do I know what that system setting is?
Asked by:  - 8/22/2020
A: A flashing cell light just needs to be reset, hold down the system status button for 10 seconds. Answer provided by:
Q: Is F-15 the right chlorinate cell type for this unit? If not how do I change it?
Asked by:  - 9/30/2020
A: That is the correct default setting Answer provided by:
Q: Can this cell be used to replace the Hayward AquaRite T15 cell?
Asked by:  - 7/11/2018
A: No, this cell is not compatible with the Hayward AquaRite controller.
You could use the CircuPool-made T15 cell: https://www.discountsaltpool.com/Replacement-cell-for-HaywardAqua-rite-T-15_p_144.html
Or, you could easily upgrade the whole system to the complete Universal40 system: https://www.discountsaltpool.com/CircuPool-Universal40-Salt-Chlorine-Generator_p_240.html Answer provided by:
Q: I purchased a Circupool UL40 Salt generator to replace an old Hayward. I guess I never noticed it before but the control unit is very warm if not hot to the touch. I do not smell burning wires and no breakers or fuses have been tripped. Unit is wired directly into a pool timer so it runs only 9 hours a day. Digital display says everything is within proper operating parameters. Can anyone tell me if the heat issue is normal?
Asked by:  - 9/17/2020
A: It is very normal for salt system control boxes to feel hot to the touch, especially if it's box is metal. There is a large transformer inside that generates heat. Answer provided by:
Q: what is the procedure for resetting the cell version on a UL40 generator/controller?
Asked by:  - 10/13/2021
A: You would want to make sure it is set to "F-15" using this procedure: https://vimeo.com/527960164/9126f88f29 Answer provided by:
