Custom 3D printed hand grip for the New Nintendo 3DS XL.

I have medium to large sized man hands.  While I love playing 3DS, my hands would cramp and it was uncomfortable.  I tried several grips and none of them were large enough.  I don't have a problem with Xbox or Playstation controllers, why doesn't anyone make handles like those controllers but for 3DS?  I don't know, so I made them myself.

Designed and 3D printed in the US, this was featured on reddit and received hundreds of upvotes.

The wire mesh handles are designed to be airy but strong and comfortable, so your hands won't sweat from long gaming sessions.

The bottom allows room for cartridges to be ejected and you can press the power button and remove the stylus without removing the 3DS from the grips.

The 3DS can be charged while it stays in the grips.

Any areas that look like they could break, like the tabs on the bottom that hold the 3DS in, were reinforced with 100% infill, which means it is 100% filled in with plastic, not hollow like most 3D prints are.

HOW TO USE:

With the New 3DS XL closed, slide it in from the top down to the bottom until it reaches the tabs, and slightly open the lid and continue to slide down until the tabs extend up between the lid and the back of the 3DS.  If done correctly, the sides of the grip should extend around the sides of the 3DS a little, and the top of the grip should extend over the top of the 3DS.  You should be able to turn the grip completely upside down and the 3DS should not be able to slide out on it's own.

NEGATIVES (to some buyers):

The 3DS slides in and is held firmly in place, it will not slide out accidentally and is not designed to be slid in-and-out frequently.  Some buyers do not like this, they want to slide it on only when gaming, and slide it off for... some reason other than gaming, maybe to allow someone with small hands to play?  Anyway, the point is if you need a grip that comes off easily, this is not it.

The tabs on the bottom do not allow the top lid to close fully.  There's about a 2mm gap, which is about wide enough to fit a fingernail in there.  It's because the tabs need to be thick to help prevent them from breaking.  The screen still turns off when closed like it normally does, the small gap doesn't hurt the New 3DS XL, but some buyers have complained so I'm obligated to mention it.

FAQS:

QUESTION:  I wish to modify this grip, can I sand it or cut it?
ANSWER:  Yes, you can sand it or cut it how you wish, but please be careful and I am not responsible for any damage after you have modified it.

QUESTION:  Do you offer any other colors?
ANSWER:  I can, but it might cost more.  Message me personally if you would like another color.

QUESTION:  Can I order these in bulk?
ANSWER:  Yes, message me

QUESTION:  Do you offer grips for other portable consoles?  If so, how much?
ANSWER:  Sometimes, message me.  Pricing will be similar.

QUESTION:  You have over a dozen positive reviews for this grip and only one negative, saying it didn't fit, can you explain?
ANSWER:  The buyer did not have a NEW 3DS XL.  They had a regular 3DS XL, so it did not fit properly.  As to their complaints about it being rough, I now sand and file the grips after printing to remove any rough spots left behind from the printing process.

CAUTION:  Please do not buy this if you have tiny hands.  This is for people who have tried other grips and did not think they were large enough.  Do not complain if your hands are too small, as I said earlier, this is for medium to large sized hands.
