• The brass tip eliminates difficult deposits in the reliefs and legends of coins by slow and gentle probing.
  

• The brass scalpel tip allows you to remove the hardest concretions only. Be careful, this tip can scratch your find and damage the patina.
  

• This set of 4 restoration pencils is a great addition to your cleaning toolbox. We do recommend being very careful when cleaning copper-based items, as it is probably the most "sensitive" or softest metal. The fiberglass and the carbon pencils in this set can be sharpened with a regular pencil sharpener.

Directions and recommendations:

1. The pencils should be used in circular motions. Start gently and then figure what amount of pressure is appropriate.

2. Can be used in conjunction with liquid cleaners like Pararestor, Monetor, Clean Bill or Mint State Restoration cleaner. These cleaners will help soften any tough crust or concretions while the pencil gently removes it.

3. The fiberglass pencils allow you to remove soft dirt without damaging anything or removing the patina. It is the “softest” pencil in this set.
