BOWEN WB Warner Animation DC Comics' Superman Maquette Rarest of the Rare. Year 1996 Hand-painted, signed and numbered. ONLY available to WB Animation Studio employees in 1996. Numbered #165. NOT SOLD in any Stores. Sculpted by Randy BOWEN, Designed by BRUCE TIMM. Statue has a Removable Cape and has Bowen Signature and Bruce Timm's Signature Engraved inside the Cape. This Statue has a "round' base" and has the markings listed on the bottom which means that it's originally made for the Warner Bros. TV Animation Staff Only. Approx 12½" Tall Weight: Approx. 2 pounds. Comes from a Smoke-Free Environment More Info: In 1996, master sculptor Randy Bowen was commissioned by DC Comics & WARNER BROTHERS to create this 3-D visual reference for the series artists. It was based on original designs by Bruce Timm, the series creator. It is estimated that 500 pieces were cast for the WB staff. The following year WARNER BROTHERS issued 2500 regular edition pieces and 250 artist proofs for sale at the STUDIO STORES. The original STAFF version are set standing on a simple gray base with the following text printed on the bottom: FOR USE BY WARNER BROS TV ANIMATION STAFF ONLY (C) 1996 WARNER BROTHERS Superman TM DC Comics.
