Mr Fish is one of the big names associated with the 60’s British peacock revolution. He dressed rock stars including Mick Jagger, Brian Jones and David Bowie.

Although it’s his shirts which he’s probably most well-known for, his tailoring was equally exceptional and examples are rare and collectible.

This double-breasted blazer is made from a fancy stripe of orange and light & dark browns on beige (see below for the colour note). It has a long lean line which became more popular in the 1970s and is nicely tailored, with a fitted waist and fastened with brass buttons.

Mick Jagger’s white outfit for the 1969 Hyde Park, Brian Jones memorial concert and the mans “dress” which David Bowie wore on the original 1970 cover of The Man Who Sold the World were all made by Mr Fish.

COLOUR NOTE

The close up photo of the lapel is a true colour representation of this jacket stripe. I discovered my ipad assumes a white balance from the lightest colour it detects and then adjusts everything to it. Hence the white cloth next to the lapel in this photo is  more accurate.

Size

Measures

Pit to pit:  20 inches   waist 19 inches across length 32 inches from nape of neck to hem.

Condition

In good condition and very wearable. The main notable issue is the fraying of the buttonhole on the lapel (see closeup photo). There is some marking to the lining on the underarms and shoulder areas and there are some very faint marks on the right edged of the jacket which is overlapped, and therefore hidden by the (left) double breasted side (again see photos for details).
