Pinch open the sliding mechanism and place it behind the knobs or between the handles, depending of  the type of cabinet you have. 

Pinch  the sliding mechanism back into the lock and slide until its secure.

Let go and you are done.

Do not use when damaged or if the child is able to remove it repeatedly.

Dangerous objects that are sharp or toxic should be placed on higher cabinets even with the lock present.
