Robert Kulicke (1924-2007): A renowned painter for his brilliant floral and still life renderings. Kulicke was also a very respected frame maker so often his paintings value are enhanced by the intricate handmade mouldings that he personally created. He also worked on frames for the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and Metropolitan Museum of Art, including one for a Leonardo Di Vinci painting. He became a close associate of Robert Motherwell who encourage him to use more elaborate frames on his simple work, and to create simple frames from Motherwell more complex abstracts. Today Kulicke's paintings are appreciated by collectors and critics worldwide.
