This is a stunning hand written and hand painted coat of arms Extract of Matriculation patent document on vellum dated May 15, 1899. The decree highlights the family ancestry and notes the specification of the symbolic elements of the coat of arms which contains a knight's shield and Barron's coronet, hand with sword along with the Latin phrase "Nec temere, nec timide" that translates to 'Neither rashly nor timidly'.

The document is signed by Lord Lyon King of Arms of Scotland. Below the signature is a large wax seal housed in tin container. The container has an embossed crown on the lid. The document measures 17.5 inches high by 23.5 inches wide. The document includes a presentation wood box that has been covered in red moroccan leather with the gold gilt "VR" royal cypher of Queen Victoria and two crowns. The box measures 19.5 inches, 3.75 inches deep, 3.75 inches high. Total weight 2 pounds and 0.2 ounces.
