Vintage Banthrico metal souvenir building bank from the 1960's in the shape of the Aurora National Bank of Illinois, a hi-rise bank designed in 1926 by architect Frank Gray.

This bank is cast in metal with a grey finish and very good detail, notably the large lantern on the corner of the building. The front side is inscribed "AURORA NATIONAL BANK" with a relief of the ancient Roman goddess of the dawn, Aurora. The back side reads "LIGHTING YOUR WAY TO SECURITY" with a relief of a torch. The coin slot is on top of the roof and the keyed metal trap inscribed "BANTHRICO, INC. - CHICAGO, U.S.A." is on the bottom.

It measures 6" tall by 3.25" wide by 3.75" deep, and weighs 1.5 lbs.

A nice old skyscraper bank for your collection. Get it.
