Indian Raj,

Superb Solid 900 Silver

Tea Pot, Sugar, Creamer and Tray.

Madras, 1880s.

Total Weight 1255 Grams

Outstanding late 19th Century 4 piece Tea Set.

Each piece is numbered V.75 underneath signifying they are all from the same matching set.

Tests confirm it is 900 pure for it's near sterling silver quality.

It is ornately decorated with all-over repousse work.

The heavily embossed figurines depicted are very

 3 dimensional in appearance.

The silver work shows various Hindu Deities

in exceptional crisp, high relief and is referred to as

'Swami' style after the Hindu term for idols.

The famed Madras firm of P. Orr & Sons was renowned for Swami design.

The set is in very good antique condition,

no damage or faults to report.

The tray ends on the underside show signs of once having handles.

Some light ware commensurate with age.
