This is a somewhat rare box camera from Seneca, the SNAP, from their earliest years (1895-1900?).  There is a mention on the Seneca Camera-Wiki page, no mention in my McKeown's.

The strap holds in place but the rear eyelet is torn, front is frayed.  'SNAP' can be read reasonably well, 'SENECA' is quite hard to make out.  From the photos I've seen, and the indentations on the front, there used to be gold leaf around the lens and around the outside of  the camera front.

Hard to find camera in any condition.
