On the original packaging, the pattern was described as "Ladies' Waist. Consisting of an over-blouse with body and sleeves gathered at waist and sleeve cuff. The over-blouse and lining [sometimes known as a lining, underlining or guimpe #8933] may be made with a round or square neckline and the one seam sleeves (which are dart-fitted) may be made in a longer or shorter length. Center back closing."

This pattern set was designed to fit the size and shape of a 1910s woman with 32” inch bust. This is the only size offered with this package.

Over-Blouses from the Edwardian era similar to this were made of a variety of fabrics including gabardine, faille, broadcloth, corduroy and wool. The common colors for garments like this were pale cream, khakis, deep brown, green, rose, blues and stripes.

This Edwardian package has a copy of the original artwork on the front cover. On the back cover is a material requirements chart and historical notes on the paper pattern industry from the era. Inside the booklet are brief, written instructions on Cutting and Making the garment along with our article, “What is the Difference Between a Chemisette and a Guimpe?” We also include the Past Patterns Guide to Editing and Modifying patterns due to bust size. The patterns come on 1 36” wide sheet and are hand-drawn, emulating the originals.
