In
2005 Taschen Publishing came out with THE STANLEY KUBRICK ARCHIVES, a beautiful
(and huge!) book with detailed analyses of every one of Kubrick’s films – from
1956’s “The Killing” to “Eyes Wide Shut,” released in 1999. This oversized book
(16 ½” x 12”, with 544 pages) features two major sections: “The Films” and “The Creative Process.” It is
filled with full-color shots from each of his films along with copious
examinations and explanations of his art. The book’s authorship is credited to
Stanley Kubrick and his wife, Christiane Kubrick. Kubrick died in 1999, shortly
before “Eyes Wide Shut” was released.
Finally, as I’ve said a few times, this is a huge book. It weighs 13.6 lb. The Media Mail rate for shipping within the US comes to $15 (with insurance). If you are the successful bidder and would prefer a different method of shipping, please contact me after the auction is concluded and we’ll work something out.
A Note to this and my other
auctions: a close friend died late last year. He and I had worked in
book publishing together for many years, and he was also a true collector. His
family has asked that I represent for sale these books and comics from his
collection. The collection is voluminous, and my friend was an editor for the
DC books and the Star Wars books while a Senior Editor at Bantam Books. Most of
these titles are in Fine condition. I would say that most have never been
opened for reading. I will be posting new auctions for this collection over the
next few months. Please let me know if you have any questions about the
provenance for these publications.
And as always, BindingDeals
offers a no-hassle return policy. We only ask that you pay for the return
shipping except when there's a problem with the item.
