A rare and charming original from the famous French copper power house J. Gaillard pot from French gourmet chef collection that prefer to remain anonymous.

Extremely rare stamped piece stamped with extremely rare maker stamp of J. Gaillard PARIS 81, Faubourg St.Denis (maker original street address in Paris).

6.5” in diameter 7” tall and thick and heavy copper pan with a cast iron handle.

This piece is from the early editions of French copper collection that was much more substantial in thickness of copper and therefore is much more valuable as a perfect and even heat conductor that is a must for a gourmet chef.

The remaining French copper maker Mauviel newer copper pieces are much thinner and lighter yet still being considered an investment as they keep climbing up every year. Yet the older vintage pieces are much more coveted as they become harder and harder to find or replace from the French famous copper shops cherished supply.

Those cherished treasures are being lovingly stored in special rooms at the back of the company shops in France and shown only to serious collectors upon request.

As copper became increasingly expensive Mauviel could no longer continue to make the pans of the same thickness of copper to keep the prices within the reach of affordability.
