This is an
old and empty J.R. Watkins Baking Powder trial size tin made in the 1940’s. There is minor rust on the tin and small holes
in the shape of a ‘P’ that were punched in the lid. All in all, the tin is still in good
condition for its age and trial size tins are difficult to find in this
condition. This is a wonderful addition to any J.R. Watkins or old tin
collection.
The J.R. Watkins Company was founded in 1868 and
today continues to sell household products (home and health remedies as well as
baking products). Many people still
remember the Watkins man who came door to door in a horse-drawn wagon traveling
around the countryside many decades ago.
Size: approximately 1 ¾” (L), 1 ¾” (W), 2 ½” (H)
Vintage items do have a history and can show signs of aging with minor flaws or imperfections (that is actually what makes them so unique and great!). I do my absolute best to accurately describe the items including any imperfections that I see. If you need additional photos, let me know - I will be glad to provide you with additional ones. Please contact me if you have questions regarding the item. Note that each item is very carefully wrapped for shipping (using tissue paper, bubble wrap and 100% biodegradable peanuts in sturdy boxes). Due to the vintage nature of the items in April's Attic Shop, all items are sold as is and all sales are final (with no warranties, guarantees or cancellations).
