Introduction

English Name - Spinous Kino Tree

 

This is a small plant. The bark of this tree is sticky. It has pale yellow and gray bark and rust-like scaly shoots and oval leaves on spreading branches. These should be 8.7-11.2 cm long.

These leaflets are attached to the branch by a short stalk. The surface of the leaves is bright green and the underside is white. The flowers produced here are purple and red in color. These flowers, which are located in clusters, have 5 petals. Flowering occurs in June and July.

The fruit that is produced in the saffron plant is an achene. There is 1 seed here. These seeds give rise to the plant. This cactus plant is shade, drought, and weed tolerant.

It is found in warm regions of Sri Lanka,India, Burma and Malacca. Commonly seen in areas from sea level to 2000 feet
