Now Im on to list the ANCIENT hankies. These all date from the Civil War era and before.

They are as originially found save a recent pressing. Im affraid with the ANCIENT ones, the color is NOT fast— since it hadn’t been invented yet- so water washing would be difficult with today’s cleaners. I did soak and wash one of the black/white embroidered examples, and it did fade but the linen came out clean and all signs of age were washed away.

Like I said, these are more than 150yrs old. They are fun to own and appreciate….I love showing my little collection off that I keep in my china hutch
