Lady Liberty walks in profile, draped in the folds of the American flag, walking gracefully as the sun rises over a ridge. Her right arm is extended, and she carries laurel and oak branches in her left.

 

The reverse design embodies the country’s military strength and commitment to peace in the form of an eagle spreading its wings behind the union shield, clutching arrows in one talon and olive branches in the other. An inverted pyramid of thirteen stars representing the original thirteen colonies floats above the eagle’s head.
