This lot is TWO Homer Laughlin large Oval Platters.  H55N6 measures approximately 11.75 x 9.5"  and B55N6 measures approximately 11.5 x 9.25" across.  They are slightly dusty from sitting on the shelf for decades and will need to be cleaned.  The bases are relatively un-scuffed, one has a repaired chip on the top edge, there may be crazing and other glazing imperfections.  We will try to note any noticeable chips or cracks but things can be missed so review the photos carefully and ask questions!

Blue Willow History: 

A young Chinese girl, in love with one of her father's young employees, was betrothed to a wealthy and elderly merchant. The day of her wedding, the young lovers eloped. They fled across a bridge, pursued by the girl's father, and escaped in a boat to the young man's island home. They were soon caught and were threatened with death. The Gods, however, took pity on them, and the lovers were transformed into turtledoves, and flew away together.

The Traditional Willow pattern has a pagoda in the center right of the design, and to the left, a bridge with two, and, sometimes, three people on it. Above the bridge is a boat, and beyond that the young man's island home. Two doves fly above and in the foreground are two trees, one of which is a willow. The picture is generally surrounded by a lavish blue border.

We use the USPS to calculate shipping and will combine shipping whenever possible.  We are NOT responsible for the amount of time USPS takes to deliver your item once it has been received into their system.  We add minimal handling charges to our items.  You will receive notification of shipment with tracking information directly from eBay. 

Items purchased on Friday may not be shipped until Monday.  While we do ship on SOME Saturdays, shipments are generally processed Monday through Friday during regular business hours. 

If payment is not received within 3 days an automatic unpaid item case will be opened on eBay.  If you need additional time to pay for an item, please request this BEFORE you place a bid.
