Heckel Model 41i Bassoon Serial Number 10667 EXCELLENT

Here is Heckel Bassoon #10667.

The Heckel bassoons are the stuff of legends. Used by more orchestra professionals than any other bassoon, the sound of an older Heckel is unlike anything else in the bassoon world. This one was built right around when Heckel had started to make thicker walled instruments with a more robust sound.

This instrument is in excellent condition. It has just been completely gone over by my master technician and is completely ready to play - please see a video of this bassoon being played on YouTube. Formerly the property of the principal bassoonist of a major US symphony orchestra, this instrument has advanced keywork, including the high D and E keys. This instrument has been refinished at some point - we did not do it. The Heckel brands on the joints are difficult to make out but can be observed under magnification. The Heckel stamp in the boot is clear.

We have put this instrument into a brand new Wiseman case for the ultimate in protection. We had a professional bassoonist comb through a collection of Heckel bocals and choose the one that she felt was best suited to this instrument - it is a Heckel 3 CC.
