Listing is for an Ambra 434EZ computer - this one is an odd one. It looks like it was used as either a POS or a home entertainment system. The original hard drive booted just once, into a Chinese version of Windows 2000 - it made a noise that I had never heard before, then the 4GB drive died. Hard. So I replaced it with a 6.4 GB drive onto which I installed XP and Win98SE through a combination of floppy and CDROM installation. I then took a LOT of time getting the drivers loaded to both OSes. Windows XP sees most of the drivers, the graphics were force-handed with 98 drivers, it sees the card but it reports it as incompatible, yet 1024x768x16bit. USB is OK, you can move files to the FAT partition. LAN drivers are loaded on both OSes and do see my home network. Win 98 does not see the USB drivers nor the modem.
The case is ultra slim, 9/10 condition. There's an SVIDEO and Composite out, as well as what seems to be an IR sensor up front and separate headphone jacks, which leads me to believe that it was an early HiFi system. I could not find any information about the model number, but knowing Ambra's run, this is probably one of if not THE last series they made. The LAN card is working in both OSes. I have created two partitions, a 1.2 GB FAT32 partition and a 4 GB NTFS. All the games pick up the integrated sound card without issues. The drivers for the machine are loaded and copied onto the FAT partition. I paired it with an IBM keyboard, mouse, and (cough) Acer speakers. Black, to be sure. The inside of the machine is spectacularly clean - even the Sony CMOS battery has good voltage.
In any case, I have refurbished this machine and it is completely ready - the integrated sound card is fully SB compatible, and works well with old games.
This is a great retro gaming machine, or for industrial applications.
