This is a fully restored and complete working Atwater Kent, model 30, battery radio with Six, (6), tested and working tubes.  The A/K model 30, 1925, was the first of the A/K table top battery radios to have their three tuning capacitors ganged together with brass belts and this was the claim to fame of the model 30 radio.  The A/K model 30 and 32 radios were the first of this type and the had drive wheels made of pot metal and after many years of service the pot metal would expand and distort and break the brass belts.  In fact you can't find any of these radios with the drive wheels intact.  I replace them with the brass wheels from the later radios and repair the belts, which ends the problem.  As you can see in the pictures the cabinet is finished original as possible and is a beauty.  This would be an awesome addition to your collection as the early model 30 is one of the rare ones to find and it would need to be restored to look and operate correctly.  To operate all you need is an antique radio power supply to replace the battery and connect to a good ground source and a piece of wire for the antenna.  Then set back and enjoy a piece of history.  And of course, you will also need a speaker of this era, which are available on eBay.  I prefer the Atwater Kent speaker, but any of this era will work.  I Will include a CD with the Atwater Kent #2 Instruction manual, which will show the proper hook up including antenna of this type of Atwater Kent battery radio.  The serial number for this Atwater Kent model 30 radio is # 566841.  If you have any questions, please ask.   WHAT A GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT THIS WOULD MAKE!!   This is a great working radio.  They are so different and great to listen to and a great conversation piece.  Thanks, and God Bless, Ron
