A very unusual handmade etching by an unknown artist.

It is a rather macabre portrait, a skull wearing a cloak decorated with military medals, a chain with two large metal discs (coins?), and a key on a cross.

As can be seen it is an individual piece handmade with etching accompanied by pressing some of the individual items into the paper (see picture of reverse). Printed in brown ink.

A black stamp top right reads 'Test Subject or Craft' which suggests that perhaps it was a student's examination piece. If anyone has any other ideas I would be very interested to know.  Estimated date 60s/70s.

Printed on cream coloured wove paper.  Generally in very good condition, a very crisp impression. The only point to note is small tear to the edge of the bottom margin.

The sheet measures 35 x 20.5cm.

Postage free in the UK, £7 to mainland Europe and £10 to the USA. Note overseas postage will be rolled unless otherwise requested.  All other destinations with ebay's global shipping programme.
