Late 19th C Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope No. 42217

Great vintage/antique brass microscope by Ernst Leitz Wetzar dating from 1896-1897.

(Microscope numbers 40000 to 42600 were manufactured from 1896-97)

Back of base is labeled “M.O. 39”, and could actually be “M.O. 39-2”

Measures approximately 12 1/2” tall x 7 1/2” deep x 4” wide, and weighs approximately 7.5 lb.

Appears to be in very good condition; please see photos.

Please note that the glass backing on one side of the reflector has lost some of the silvering; it is not a chip or a crack.
