Nicholas Mace was born in London in 1949 and has always had a fascination with wildlife and field sport. His extensive knowledge and love of the countryside is reflected in his artwork. He was selling his pictures by the age of fifteen. He worked as a designer in a commercial art studio, later leaving to devote himself entirely to painting. He has earned an excellent reputation for his sporting and landscape paintings throughout Europe and the U.S.
