 These £2 coins are part of a collection of 12 coins, depicting the 12 Labours of Hercules. Hercules was a roman god, named after the Greek god Heracles, he was known for being the god of strength and heroes. He served as a super-powered everyday man and did not have to complete the 12 labours, but did choose to suffer through the labours to atone for sins he had committed when under the influence of Hera's Madness. This would be used to show the average man that even gods suffer bad months or bad years and that their mis-comings aren't so big comparatively.
