On offer is this rare, huge, vintage Royal Doulton twin handle loving cup issued to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

Designed by Charles Noke and Harry Fenton - on side see the Queen in a central cartouche flanked by the Union Jack and the Royal Standard flags, the Royal Coat of Arms above.  The other is a remembrance of Queen Elizabeth I, who ruled from 1558 through to 1603.  3 galleons are in the background, a nod to the naval presence and voyages of discovery.

This was issued in a limited edition of 1,000 - this one numbered 140.  Amazingly still with its original numbered certification of authenticity.

An imposing piece - height of 27.3cm, opening diameter of 18.4cm, spans approx 30cm handle to handle edge.  Raw unpackaged weight of 2.2kg.

In good condition - no chips or cracks.  Some scuff/dog ears to the certificate.  Please consider photos.  Please note that the bottle of wine visible in photo 2 is not included in the sale but is illustrative of scale.

A piece which seldom comes to market - a true collectors piece of memorabilia.
