AE drachm of Kamnaskires VI of Elymais.

c. 100 CE.

These coins of Elymais are both cheap and interesting, an excellent combination for a collector.

They are from a small kingdom on the border of the Arsacid dynasty of Parthia, which was later conquered by the Sasanians. They are attributed to different monarchs by different authorities. Little is known beyond the evidence of the coins themselves. I have given the best attributions I can find, but I can't guarantee you will find the same one!

The bearded bust on this one is a less common type.

Size and weight: 15x18mm, 3.9g.
Obverse: Bearded bust left wearing torque and diadem, pellet in crescent at top right, anchor with two cross-bars to right, small crescent above anchor.
Reverse: Bearded bust left in square formed by blundered Greek legend.
Reference: This attribution is from Harlan Berk, but this ruler is not in van’t Haaff.  See also the tetradrachm at Sear 5888.

My guarantee: If you find this coin to be not as described, you can return it to me for a refund.
