Listing is for an AST Advantage SX/33 model 273 which I have refurbished and upgraded. The original CPU is soldered to the motherboard, but there is an upgrade socket into which I put an Intel 486 DX2/66. It came with 4Mb RAM and a 270 Mb hard disk, which I upgraded to 16 Mb and 630 Mb respectively. The original AST image was in tact, I moved it over to the new drive and added a bunch of games. I removed MS Works for privacy, and removed as many personal files as I could find. I replaced the PSU and I also soldered on a conventional button cell holder and new CR 2032 cell. I also added a CDROM (24x) and an ESS Audiodrive Soundblaster compatible soundcard. The system was disassembled and cleaned as well. The CRT shows a crisp and stable image after some deoxit to the rear pots - it is currently set to 800x600x256 colors in Windows 3.1 (AST version).

The case condition is good, nothing is missing or broken, the CRT is good too, there's a discoloration on the top (I suspect a scratch) and some minor scratches on the plastic casing. Keyboard (AST), mouse, and speakers are in good shape - Overall, a very nicely put together and tidy system - 8.5/10.

This is a great retro gaming machine, or for industrial applications.

Despite best efforts and rigorous checks, this is a vintage piece of hardware and I cannot offer a warranty on it, nor can I accept returns.
